In May 2024, the Netherlands was shocked when foster parents John and Daisy were arrested on suspicion of serious abuse and neglect of their then ten-year-old foster daughter. It soon became apparent that the girl was not the only victim. How could this have gone so terribly wrong, despite all the warning signs? The filmmakers went in search of answers.
